All the grapes for Valentine par Valentine are meticulously picked by hand. Fermentation is traditional, without the use of pumps. Manual pigeage (punching down the cap) is done to gently extract just the right amount of flavours and tannin. Ageing takes place in new barrels for 16 months in underground quarries in order to obtain full-boded, powerful wine with well-integrated oak.
This has tremendous fruit with understated oak as well as a beautiful long aftertaste.
A great match with meats cooked in a sauce, game and tasty cheeses.
Why the name Valentine? Because that is the name of a pretty young girl who was born into the family in the year 2000. We wanted to make a wine worthy of her with an elegant label, and she painted the "V" on it herself.
